AC Compressor Repair, Honest Diagnosis First
The compressor pressurizes refrigerant. That refrigerant grabs heat from inside your home, moves it outside, and releases it. Without the compressor, your AC system cannot cool properly. It is also one of the most expensive components in an air conditioning system and can damage other parts when it fails. The good news is that not every compressor issue means the compressor itself needs replacement. Sometimes the real problem is a failed capacitor, a bad contactor, or an incorrect refrigerant charge. Proper diagnosis identifies the actual issue before repairs begin.
Compressor-related repairs can include hard start kits for struggling compressors, capacitor replacement, wiring repair, contactor replacement, and refrigerant service for systems running low on charge. When the compressor has burned out internally or seized mechanically, replacement is usually the only reliable option. The ENERGY STAR program from the U.S. Department of Energy explains how to evaluate repair-versus-replacement costs, and we walk through those options with you during the service call.
